In the MMT RDM we have multiple Party
types to cover those involved in the movement of goods, some well known party types are definied below as are the attributes for this class.
The Parties inherit the same class structure from MMT, some parties are common so have a defined type, as below examples how. Others can be used by specifying the party role code for the party type i.e. WH = Warehouse Keeper.
The diagram above shows the most commonly used attributes from the Party
class, there are more available in the MMT RDM, but the most common include:
Contact Details (Person) for the Party
Postal Address
Tax Identification
Government Registration Identifier and Country (i.e. EORI numbers, or Government Issued Id for a company)
The definitions of a party type are key for common understanding across borders and for legal basis, the definitions are published under a library called the Core Components Library (CCL) and adhere to the 'controlled vocabulary'
